When I’m honest with myself about my choice of degree, this is how the conversation goes:
“This definitely wasn’t the easiest career path to choose. With all the reasonable, grown up degrees available to you, you chose a degree in English with an emphasis in Writing and Publication Studies in order to chase down a potentially dying industry? Yes. Yes, I did.”
“Would you have been satisfied choosing something else? No.”
Here I am twenty-four years old, two and a half years out of undergrad, and trying to find a point of entry into the ever-changing and elusive industry of books and publishing.
