This place speaks for itself, but I’m going to talk a little anyway.

Heaven? Nirvana? Kramerbooks? Sure, they’re interchangeable. This Dupont Circle gem was established in 1976 and is the OG (that’s “original gangster”) bookstore and cafe combo. The store is open 7 days a week and 24 hours on Fridays and Saturdays! Really, you’ve got no excuse for not browsing their tempting book selection and having a mimosa (or 3).

Patrons sit at the coffee bar chatting and reading over espressos and cappuccinos and other coffee drink-os. The atmosphere is buzzing but not so distracting as to take away from the reason you’re there. If anything, the activity is infectious, and you may find you’re inclined to buy more books than you planned. You can lug your haul out to the back patio for brunch and let the smell of pastries mingle with the fragrance of pages in your new books. Mmm aren’t you dying to visit already?
